The Rio de Janeiro office serves as Oceaneering’s Brazilian headquarters. It is also where the R&D team is located. Located in the city’s downtown area, it is a strategic location that is close to several important clients. Technical support for ROVs, as well as sales and commercial operate out of our Rio office.

Located in the industrial district, the 19,000 sq m in Macae hosts Oceaneering’s ROV, Survey and service rental and tooling business units. The location has a training center with a ROV simulator and ROV test tank, which allows Oceaneering to fully provide onshore training and equipment testing. Macaé serves as an emergency oil spill response mobilization location with seven containers to control oil spills. It’s the only oil spill response kit that can provide this service in Latin America.

Oceaneering’s umbilical manufacturing facility is in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, at Guanabara Bay, near the famed Rio-Niteroi bridge. The facility was built in 1998 and commissioned in 1999. In its first year, Oceaneering manufactured around 100 km of production and injection umbilicals for the Petrobras-operated Bonito and Marlim fields. The facility can deliver full project management, engineering, design and manufacturing. It houses a qualification lab, which tests for umbilical fatigue, tensile, hose impulse, hyperbaric, installation cyclic bending, reserve bending, crushing load testing. Niterói manufactures both thermoplastic umbilicals and hoses, as well as steel tube.
